What would the holiday season be without the rituals that inspire not only emotion, but also creativity? Yann Grienenberger, Director of the CIAV Meisenthal, and Benoît Laumaillé, Creative Director and Head of Visual Merchandising at Galeries Lafayette, are each reimagining these festive traditions by placing design at the heart of their work.
Each year, the CIAV commissions a designer to create its iconic Christmas bauble, repositioning it as a democratic design object while perpetuating centuries-old glassmaking expertise through a contemporary lens. At Galeries Lafayette, the magic of the festive season comes to life through the annual Christmas window displays, conceived each year by a leading figure from fashion or the decorative arts, who reinterprets both the visual language of Christmas and the unique identity of the department store.
