5.000 Tonnen Müll pro Jahr, unterschiedliche Farbkonzepte, viel zu hohe Kosten: Das Universitätsklinikum Bonn (UKB) macht mit einem Pilotprojekt Schluss damit.

Gemeinsam mit dem Start-up CIRCULARMED digitalisiert und standardisiert das UKB sein Abfallmanagement, mit einheitlichen Farbcodes, KI-gestützter Datenauswertung und geschulten Mitarbeitenden. Das Ergebnis: 10 bis 15 Prozent geringere Abfallkosten und eine höhere Recyclingquote.

Die Reportage zeigt, wie Kliniken durch smarte Mülltrennung nicht nur die Umwelt, sondern auch ihr Budget schonen können.
