Dr. Michelle McMurry Heath – BIO Africa Convention – Durban, South Africa

Dr. Michelle McMurry Heath, President and CEO of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO) spoke at the fifth annual BIO Africa Convention, held in August 27-31, 2022 in Durban, South Africa. She delivered the opening plenary welcome remarks and participated on a women in science leadership panel. This year’s theme was ‘Africa Resilient: Life Sciences innovation for achieving health and food security’. The convention was focused on agriculture, healthcare and the environment and seeks to facilitate innovation in these major biotechnology areas. It brings together researchers, policy makers, regulators, entrepreneurs and business leaders from around the world.
