Energy Storage for C&I Sector in India

Session Objective:

Indian large-scale storage market is at exponential growth phase with multiple announcements and deployments. There are more than 500 MW of energy storage capacity at installed or installation stage in India. There are multiple energy storage projects have been commssioned for commercial and industrial customers. Several businesses are now utilising renewable energy storage systems as a backup for their industry or building in order to ensure quality and continuous power supply

The energy storage system will be used to address four major issues:

Solving power quality and reliability issues to avoid revenue loss due to interrupted manufacturing
Reducing diesel consumption, by adopting Advanced Energy Storage as a back – up
. Developing Rooftop Solar + Energy Storage to supply evening peak power
Energy cost savings through open access & energy storage Energy storage deployment in the C&I sector also needs less policy intervention. With an appropriate business case, the sector can grow to 30-50 GWh by 2030. Hotels, resorts, hospitals (all critical infrastructure), shopping malls, multiplexes, and batch – manufacturing industries like textiles, plastics, foundries, and steel industries will be the early adopters for this segment.
